Be DrugFree: An overview of the Drugs in Sport strategy

DrugFree is the message promoted by the WA Drugs in Sport Strategy, an initiative of Sport Medicine Australia. The project provides education and policy support to create healthier sporting environments.

Sports Medicine Australia manages DrugFree sponsorships on behalf of Healthway. Sports promoting the DrugFree message includes, WA Baseball and AthleticA.

The DrugFree message reflects community opposition to drug misuse and encourages the pursuit of healthy active lifestyles. DrugFree incorporates both legal (alcohol and tobacco) and illegal drugs (cannabis). Through DrugFree sponsorships, parents, coaches and other adults are urged to act as positive role models for young people.
